I got my hands on a new 9842 camoplast track. It's a 2" lug, 136", 2.52 pitch, fully clipped, with the heat exchanger notches. I'm stretching out my 97 700SX to 136 for mostly flatland field / ditch and some trail riding. It will also make the odd mountain trip. Now I have a few questions:

There are 9 tooth drivers's in it now, and I know they are good for 1.25" or 1.5" max. Will the 2" fit if I go to 8 tooth?

If I go 8 tooth, will I have to change the chain and gears? They are stock 23 - 40 right now.

Will the 2 inch hold up very well in non-powder conditions? Will I be burning sliders all the time? Will the sled push like a demon on hardpack? Anyone have any experience running a 2" in these conditions? I also have plastic ski's on this sled which dropped the front of the sled down about 1.5" from stock. So lifting up the back another 1" may affect the handling???

If 2" is too much, then I could cut the lugs down to fit. Has anyone done this with good results? I had one guy tell me that if you do it, then it doesn't work that well for hardpack or powder.

I could just sell it and buy a 1.25" which is the best track for around here. I like the idea of being able to go to the mountains without changing everything. Before I decide, I just wanted to get some experience from others who have ran these kinds of tracks before.

;)!

I got the exact track I haven't ran it yet.You will need 8t drivers.I also got a 1.25 track for trail riding and boon docking I'm only going to use the 2" for deep powder riding.I would do very minimal groom trail riding with the 2" lug.You may want to go to a 1.5" for all around.
