97 sx700 with faint spark-please help!!!!

The sled died last season and we walked away from it but now it's time to revisit. The sled was running fine, it quit and now has a very weak spark. Last season we put on a new stator and a new cdi box, now we are around $500 into it and it's still not fixed. We also tried bypassing the kill switch and the throttle overide switch. Anyone have any wiring harness issues, could it be the coils? I would love to hear from somebody that has had this happen. Thanks.

srx,,you hve a wire rubbing under neath the motor. Pull the harness out and u will see it is wore thru,Exact same thing happened to me last year!

Check the spark plug caps. That could be your hole problem. Maxdlx

got to agree with both - check the wire harness under the motor and also the spark plug caps. you can do a easy resistance check of the caps. Mine were way out of spec.
