painting a dash?

Well not really the dash itself, but when standing in front of your sled the 3" black plastic strip under the windy. Wondering if any one has theirs painted?
If so, what steps did you do it in? Just scuff it up with some scotchbright pads, tape it off and good to go?
Also what kind of paint? Krylon Fusion paint?
Any pics?

Take if off, very very fine sand....clean and paint. I have been doing that for years on my sleds.

Once i base coat clear coated, but lately I have been just spray canning them and they look just as good.
