i just got done streching my sled from a 121 to a 136. my question is should i gear down one tooth on top?? i was getting some pretty bad trackspin earlier with 1" camoplast something or other. i put a 1.25" camoplast on it for the new 136 kit. i think the sled should have more than enough power with stock gearing but i wanted your opinions. the sled is a 700sx with bender triples and turks primary setup and a roller secondary.

Here is my recommendation. I just did the same on a 780 Viper. I went with 8 tooth drivers which geared it down the equivelant of 2 teeth on top. I have a 23/38 in it now and could not be happier. To have equivelant gearing you could drop to a 21 on top with 9 tooth drivers. I rode last weekend and felt that the gearing was perfect. Great acceleration and was suprised at the top end.
I didn't get a chance to top it out but for trail riding I never wished I had more up top. My EGT would have me off the throttle before I ran out of gear. That's my suggestion.

yes i would probably go down one tooth on top with the 136. Make more use of the extra traction on the bottom end while allowing the clutches to shift out more easily on top end. On my buddies long tracked '97 SX with aaens (my old sled), we ran 21/39 gears and it works very well with that setup.

On my 136 SRX i went up 1 tooth on bottom, 23/39 seem to work pretty good, kept the rpms in check,....but i know Skidooboy on his SRX went with 24/38, he went up one tooth on top and seemed to work good for him, he felt it helped on fuel for trail riding...........James
well i suppose i will just try it first when i get er put back together and see what i think. thanks for the suggestions

i ran my gears stock, and it is fast and works good offtrail. no gear change required. i am running heads and pipes though to make up for the extra mass i am pullin. ski
