I still have my 1994 Phazer II, Aaen single pipe, re-cut heads, gutted airbox, Bender cold air kit, Bender clutch kit, dynojet kit, Bender widening kit, USI ski's, Fox gas struts up front and Fox gas shocks in the rear susp. 2100 miles on this sled. And, it has been always moved in a covered trailer and stored inside. Of my five sleds, this is my baby.
I would be buried with that one..lol. NICE!

I have been watching this post with interest as i am still looking and thinking about carbs for 70 SS 338 project. I can see that I still have a lot to learn, never even heard of "Lectron's"!

This engine is getting some porting work done, though nothing radical. But after looking and looking, I am definitely leaning towards just ordering a new pair of racked Flat slides from 01 Phazer from Yamaha and fab whatever I need to make them work including cable for the oil pump and intake to allow for the balance bottle. I'd be interested in hearing thoughts on this idea. Thanks. G.

Really? What did I see then? Was I looking through the 2 stroke smoke or something? Is there a model year they had flatslides on them? Or perhaps on the 485 Venture?

Where does one obtain Lectron carbs? They sound expensive. Thanks. G.

Lectrons were produced in Troy Michigan. Don't know if they are still around. Mine are staying with me. Sorry. Do a search on ebay or craigs for a pair. Be sure to get all of the tuning needles as possible. Since the Lectron does not have a main jet, most of the tuning is done with the needle. It does use a power jet for WOT riching. I have sucessfully used the 38 TMX Mikuni carbs on a Phazer. The real work is getting a cable system to work properly.

Lectrons were used on Hot Rod racing outboard motors. They're still available I believe. I believe the modern Hot Rods (sidewinders) have made the switch to mikuni though?
