I sold off my 81 enticer 250 and 72 scorpion range whip 440 to get it with money from mowing grass.A dealer went out of business and it was the only sled he had left.I thought it was the coolest thing around. It was fun beating guys with bigger sleds on the lake being that i was a young kid and had the weight advantage.I was lucky that we had the radar runs right behind my house growing up.Hope you enjoyed my stupid story.Whats yours?

I had a race ready polaris 340 I bought with mowing money as well. The thing was a rocket but broke every other ride. Ahh those were the days :)

i hate to admit it, but i was a ski doo guy. 1975 olympique 300 fan. of coarse i couldnt leave it stock. ski spreaders, chopped windshield, and custom black and red 2 tone paint. it topped out at 30-35mph, and it was rough at that speed with bogie wheels in the back and leafs with no shocks in the front!here is a pic of a 77, they looked about the same.

I had an Evinrude in the early 80's to ride around the back yard...yes the outboard motor company. I was either late 60's or early 70's vintage.

I then stepped up to the big 340 Yamaha Ovation.

I love the old sleds. My Yamaha hook was my first sled a 71 GP 292. My parents got me when I was 8. The got it for me bucause it was a single cylinder. Once I rode with friends I soon found out how fast it was. The first year it scared me to hold the trottle wide open. I raced everyone in town (with out my parents knowing). I will alway remember beating a Ski-Doo Silver Bullet 440. The next sled I got was a 78 ET 340. That is another great story. Brad

Man you guys make me feel YOUNG. First sled was a 95 V-max 600. I'm only 23 though. Gotta love the pogo stix

im only 25, i just didnt have a lot of money when i was 13 ;):D .

that was my 1st brand new sled.my 1st sled was a 72 kitty cat.only cat i ever had.i was 5 and hanging off even back then.next was a 75 gp338 and a 72 bolens 440.i thought i needed 2 i guess.that bolens went faster but never ran when i wanted it to.went to a 79 440 exciter built,81 enticer 250 and the range whip.exciter blew when i tried to drive it down the rode for 20 miles.didnt know back then that was bad:) i actually thought they rode good.now i would be cripled riding one.

My mom rode one of those. I loved that thing. The color was pimp. And it had that cool storage box on the dash. I put candy bars in it.

mmmmmmmmmmm.....chocolate :EXER: ....now I know what to fill the dash compartment with on my 82 ss440....my first sleds were a package deal with a trailer...a 72 Olympic 300 one lunger, a 78 Olympic 300 twin, and a late 70's Yammi that, sadly, never ran....They were like $1200 bucks with an 8ft double trailer back in '91....They were ALL CRAP! but I guess that's how I learned to wrench on sleds...Thanks Ski-Doo! ;)!

My first sled was a Kitty Kat. Got that when I was 5, then moved up to a Rupp. Then rode my moms Excell III (like the one Rich had). Then a TX 440, then my dad sold all the sleds and cottage.. I bought a 95 XCR 600 in about 2000.

you have any pics? I'm just about done with restoration i wanna see if i did it right...

My first sled was a '73 El Tigre 400 (never ran right), so then i got a '89 El Tigre 6000 with the 530cc twin, that was the first REAL sled that i put a lot of miles on.

1st sled i ever bought new was my 1997 et410 as a leftover in 2000. never had to buy one as a kid cause dad let us use his 1979 et250 and the sled he bought for us kids (5 of us) a 1990 polaris star.

always loved the little sleds. so much easyer to whip around than the biger ones that my buddies drove. me on et250 vs them on formula plus/indy trail delux= me chasin them on lakes and them chasin me in the trails goin how the #$%&* do you get that thing to move like that.
