All the SRX's and SX's I see have two reflectors on the back side of the hood, about where your knees would be. Shaped like a boomerang (for lack of a better description). Blue sleds have blue ones, red sleds red ones, you get the idea. I'd like some of these!! Following my buddy on his SRX they stick out like a glowing sore thumb at night! Much easier to see than his tail light.

Any idea where one could find these? I checked with the dealer, we looked at several years of sleds and cannot find them on ANY diagram or parts list.

Huh.... was to the dealer yesterday. 3 sx's out front for sale (used). All had them. Buddy's srx, yes. His neighbors srx, yes.

Oh well... the question still stands... where can I find these??

Sure enough there they are. But holy crap! $40 plus shipping!! I think I'll find some reflective tape and get creative with the scissors!!!

you can buy the decals only from max perf, all kinds of colors about 10-15.00 for a set. they do not come stock on the sleds. what you have is several sleds that have them added to in your imediate area. i put them on my sxR, srx, and now my viper. ski

If you want a set of the hood braces, you better get them quickly. Yamaha only has the brace with the blue sticker. The other colors are sold out, and they will not be offered. You can not find them elsewhere--I tried. I just bought a set to brace the slightly cracked hood on my 1997 SX 700. You can buy just the sticker from Max. Performance in any color. I will be buying white for my red hood.

i just cut a thin piece of aluminum to that boomerang shape and pop rivited it on the inside of the hood for added support

This is what I'm thinking. I have some thin stock laying around.

yea it works great and if you want the reflective part just buy some reflective tape and slap it on the outside

here is my sled with the blue reflectors, with the aluminum plates. They dont make the kits anymore. Maxx. performance doesnt have them anymore, neither does Mountain performance. Pretty much have to find a dealer that has some left in stock. Thats what i had to do. OMO the reflector and hood kit is worth the $40. It saves your hood from cracking(looks good too!) and the fit and finish is very clean looking. The plates are recessed for the reflector and the rivets too.

If I remember correctly this kit was an update or warrantee thing because of people raising their hoods by the straps. If you just lift your hood by the middle top of your windshield you will eliminate the stress on the hood. My SX has the refelctive brace kit, but I remember it being free....... could just be one of those dreams, that was a long time ago.

My buds SkiDoo has them in white(decal type). I am impressed, they are positioned above the "wash" from the skis and fwd of the track. I was thinking that a Semi trailer DOT decal (red and White 2" x 12") and a scisors would do the trick. I will do the back of my helmet as well.

this is what I had in mind... local truck stop has it on the shelf.

Not the helmet though... would just make a target out of my head! LOL!!!

yup thats what i do to. always lift by the windy in the middle.
never any craked hoods. ;)!

I have some installed on my sled in blue and just ordered them through the Yamaha dealer in town and never had a problem with ordering.

My reason for them is that my cab cracked and needed some braces, and these were perfect for the job. It cracked when my sled tipped over on me.
