WHAT should I buy?? size strength? how long?
dont want to buy a piece of crap.
I would like to buy before I tear apart to replace
is there a fix for the rubbing on the chaincase bracket?

snakebit, there is some kind of plastic insert that you can get to eliminate the rubbing on the chaincase. Your dealer should be able to get you one cheap.

i've already had to replace mine twice. they don't last very long, even with the update done. gonna have to do some poling around where it's rubbin i guess.

look

Sure thing fix for the pull rope problem. ELECTRIC START. LOL Made you look. Maxdlx

LOL, my uncle told me that same thing when i was like 10 with his ZRT 800, i got it started ;)!

they had a recall,on that,i got a new rope and a plastic grommit insert!!Call your dealer they might replace for free.

went through 4 starter ropes in 7 thousand miles.....3 plastic inserts in about 2 weeks....just took a round file and went to town on the case till it quite frayin the rope....a year later and the same rope, id say its fixed..... :rocks:

Every fall cut the knot take another inch and re-tie, should be good for several years before rope length becomes an issue. That's what I've done several times when I notice some fraying at a rub point.

Aircraft cable fixed forever

If you are looking for a permanent fix use aircraft cable. I've used steel cable for years in old Honda trikes and other worn out junkers with torn recoil cases. You can pull right through the sheet metal case forget replacing the button. Works perfect and I guarantee you won't break the cable. Remember to make the cable long enough not to bottom out the cable and break other parts.

My rope snapped tonight. I've got the recoil setup, but can't figure out how to route the rope to the handle! It shouldn't be this difficult. Anyone have a picture or able to describe where it goes? It obviously has to rub somewhere.
