Airbox

reed spacers fix a blocked port which give you better throttle responce and a little HP gain. Look this up in the tech pages.

Well, the twin could still benefit from a straighter flow to the one port of the cylinder. You will still notice improved throttle response, even if you don't notice the power, you will notice the response.

Air box mod is primarily for higher altitude where the air is thinner and an engine needs more air to help make for the loss of hp due to altitude. At 10000 ft a 2 stroke looses about 35% of it's sea level hp even when properly jetted. To help make up for the loss, Mtn guys will up the compression which also allows them to up the jet size. More fuel needs more air than the stock airbox can flow, thus the mod described.

The 600 twin definately benefits from the reed stop notch. Personally I think that buying reed spacers is a waste of money at the price that most venders charge. I found a set for my MM7 for $25 new. Most other vendors charge about $55-60. The reed stop notch does the same thing and only costs a little time.

dont do the airbox mod, you wont gain much if any performance and it makes your jetting much more inconsistent at sea level.
