Stretching my 97 700SX. I bought a used tunnel extension a while ago. I am guessing it is an OEM one. Now for a few questions.
I don't have the longer MM rear heat exchnger hoses. But, I do have 136" heat exchangers which I could put on and use the short hoses I have now. The long heat exchangers will extend past the rear of the running board, which I am not sure I like. They will tie into the tunnel extension though, which should help for strength. Think it is worth the extra effort (about a million rivets) to remove the 121 exchangers and put on the 136"?
The extension did not come with any bracing for under the tunnel. Looking at the attached pic, it seems like there may have been sone braces there originally. Does anyone with a stock 136" sled know if there are additional braces there? If so, any suggestions on what to use / how to do it?
Thanks!

I used a 1997 MMax tunnel extention for my SRX longtrack, YES it comes with braces and i recommend you get some or fab some sort, i actually cut some of the original brace off to keep the weight down..........as for the heat exchangers....i would either pick up longer hoses or do what is did (again) i got some aluminum pipe and used it as hose extension i found i had 2 advantages, one it helps with cooling and second it helps out with less hose exposed to rocks, branches etc..........check out my older post, should one with pictures if not i could email you some.............James

I searched some of your posts and didn't find any pics, so if you could give me a link or shoot me a couple of pics, that would be great!

Thanks!

I took my 97 sx to 136 with mm parts, including the heat exchangers. It took about 160 rivets which I pulled by hand. There is a plate that covers over the tunnel and extension, if it does not show up on the mm fiche, it will on the Venture fiche as it had a place to mount for the passenger hangrips, I believe. If I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with Mtn Perf parts, and Tracks USA rail extensions if I had a stock skid.
