I am trying to replace a stock track on my SRX with a Ripsaw 1.25". There is not enough room between the front drive shaft and heat exchanger with the 9 tooth drivers. Do I need to go to a set of 8 tooth drivers?? I am also having a hard time getting enough clearance to slide the drive shaft to one side to drop it out. The heat exchanger does not permit enough room to get the nubs to clear the drivers, does the chain case have to come off also?

yep the chain case comes off to change the track. i have a 1.25 on my 02 srx. you can go to 8 tooths to keep the protectors but its pointless. just take them out and you'll have no problems. i put a 1.5 136 on a srx i had a few years ago and i had to take all the protectors off, chain case, skid. its a days worth of work.
I agree. Just take the cable off your parking brake, you don't need to take it off. The disc will slide off(don't lose the keyway) with the case and the parking brake. You will need to take your regular brake off though.

Thanks for the info, this is such a nice website. Do I just cut the bottom plate that holds each vertical protector and drill out the top rivet??
yep, i used a grinder wheel to knock out the rivets, but be careful not to hit the heat exchanger with it.

I have ordered a set of 8 tooth anti ratchet drivers for it. From what I have been reading the sled is geared too high anyway, and this will help on the bottom end plus give me clearance if I choose to stud later.
