Hey gang,
Geting ready to start another season of riding here in New York, and as I was looking over my 97 Vmax600, I noticed that the harnes for my electric face shield was melted. My sled has electric start, so I thought it was as simple as connecting the Red wire to the positive side of the battery, and the Black wire to the negative. When I noticed the problem, I saw that the Red/positive wire had melted 3 to 4 inches of the insulation off, starting from the ring terminal at the battery. Did I hook this up wrong? It seemed to work fine all last year,(although my girl friend rides this sled, so I can only assume it worked or I'm sure I would have heard about it.) Is there an accesory plug somewhere on the sled? Do I have an overcharging problem? There doesn't seem to be anything else not working. Any suggestions?
