02 viper track and studding ?

I have about 1,000$ to sink into my sled. I've decided to have the shocks re-valved and put on a new track.
Based on feedback from the sight I'm going to go with richmotorsport for the track (Hacksaw, hornets 96 or 144 down the center). Its very important to me that once installed I don't have any issues with rubbing etc. Also Is there a noticable difference on top end between 96 and 144. Also considering not studding. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

People will probaby get sick of me saying this, but I put an ice claw track from camoplast on my sled last year and it is a great alternative to studs for someone who does not want to stud. If you want to line up and race your buddies maybe not the way to go, but it hooks up great and is way safer on ice than a non-studded track. PM me if you want some more info. They also have the ice ripper track, but I don't have any information on how it will hold up in the long run.
 
I would go with 144 of rich's roetins in the hacksaw. I just got a hacksaw and ordered 192 of the roetins from rich and installed them in my srx, thing hooks up like MAD. Heard great things about those studs as well.
 
I agree, i used 1.08 roetin hornets in my hacksaw and there is perfect penetration, alot but not so much that they will be bending and breaking like crazy. I dont think you will notice any loss in top speed going from 96-144 studs.

Just finished studding a prepunched 1'' hacksaw track on my 2002 Viper. Woody's rercommended 1.075 x 5/16'' Gold Diggers, 144 down the middle with 48 single and 48 double backers. I used aluminum backers to save weight and eliminate rust problem. I could have gone with 96 ( 48 doubles), no singles, with this track also. The prepuched pattern is for both 96 or 144 down the middle. You will have to trim about 3/16'' off the tips of the track between the windows to clear the front heat exchanger guards. This is very easy to do with a pair of end cut channelock fence pliers. Nice clean straight cut! I was considering a prestudded ice ripper, but I had a 1 1/4''ripsaw on last year and noticed quite abit of wear on the tips. Camoplast had a demo track at Novi with 2000 miles on it and it too showed more wear than I like to see, and the sides of the tire studs were starting to show. The 1 1/4''Ripsaw was also a little noisier next to my stock .920 Yamaha track. The 1'' hacksaw is a nice fit on the Viper!

1.075 too short!!! so many fall into that. after 1/2 season they wear down and are too short. go one size larger. I always used 1.25 and never i mean never had a problem. I have a hack saw 1 inch with 1.25 fast track studs (best value) and have tons and tons of km on them no pull through and great hook up.
5000km and they are like new.
