Michigan Trail Permits? Does Color matter??
Went to Meijers in Grandville tonight to get a trail permit because I was told they sold them. Yeah... they sell them printed off the same orange paper roll as their fishing licenses. I was told the 06 permits were arctic cat green in color. Are the orange ones they are selling at Meijers gonna get people pulled over??
They had quite a stack of paperwork... are all these people in jeopardy??

Generally all dnr licenses are printed on the same color, but I havent purchased a trail permit yet so I cant say for sure what color they are.

mine is green.
OK here is the deal....(i think)
the color for 05 is orange.... the color for 06 is green.... because trail permits for 06 are sold before 06, they will be printed on the orange rolls until Jan1.... after that i believe they will all be green.... as far as gettin in trouble, no way, the sticker obviously states snow 06 on it so dont worry, go have fun....
the only green ones i have seen have been the pre-printed ones.. not the ones that the indidual liscense retailers print out of their machines....

fishing and hunting licenses were orange this year so i suppose the trail permit should be also??

It sucks in minnesota from now on you have to have a trail permit to ride on any kind of trails! just figured that out today so went to buy one

Same in Michigan. If you are not on private property, you must display the trail permit regardless if it is a trail or not. Side of the road or a frozen lake are all the same. Ride one groomed trail in our state and the permit has paid for itself.
