? test rectifier and temp control for hand @ thumb warmers

like to know wow to test rectifier or voltage regulator,and temp control for hand and thumb warmers , mine are acting up tested everything else they seem towork when they want and get cold once i start driving

Are you losing both grips and the thumb?
I lost one grip and found it was a wire that had rubbed off the insulation and was shorting. I would start there, check all your wires and make sure they are sound. I would think that if the regulator was bad or starting to fail it would operate better at higher revs. Check out the temp cntl with an ohm meter for continunity. I havent looked at the regulator recently but I think to test it all you have to do is pull the grip harness connector and check the output voltage.
 
My best guess is you have a wire that has wire that's rubbed through. When you start riding it moves around, touches metal and shorts. I would check the integrity of all the wiring from the regulator through the grips.
