I looked at the secondary clutch in my sled (2001 sxr 700) and it says 99 stx 600 written in marker on it. Any ideas? How different are those clutches, and what could have gone wrong or performance advantage would it have given the previous owner? Thanks ahead of time.
bet is is 99 sx 600, same clutch. Maxdlx

well that's my guess, but any guesses as to what might have happened? That sounds funny to me that it would be in there. Do secondaries go bad that often?
the previous owner or owners might have had an aftermarket roller on there and found a stock one to put back on when they sold the sled. it happens often. some people keep the aftermarket stuff and sell it later as they dont really get anything for it being on there in the sale value of the sled
Something (bolt, tool???) got wedged behind my secondary and tore it up before I bought it. Lucky I clutched it and found it.
