I was up in Newberry this weekend and we decided to go off trail into the woods. I was busting a trail through 3+ ft of snow when I decided to turn around and got stuck. Just as I hit the kill swith I noticed smoke coming out of the hood, I quick popped the hood and the foam on the uner side was on fire. I was able to put it out with snow. Have any of you mountain guys had problems like this with Bender pipes on the sx chassis? I was wondering what to use in place of the foam? Jason

use heat tape in place of the foam. will keep the heat off of your hood & it's also lighter

I never had my foam catch on fire, but I did melt a hood screen tab...
I actually put the heat tape rite over the foam. It deflects the heat and you still get the sound insulation of the foam. The tape gets a little discolored but other than that no problemo.

when you talk about heat tape the only stuff I found looked like tin foil tape?
no really insulating factor to it??

Thats the stuff. Reflects heat, no insulating or sound deadening qualities.
