Allright, last year I put the 8ab weights in my 2000 Venture 600 with 2.4 in the tips. It still hit around 9000 RPM but was better than before. This year I took all that extra seat and backest weight off and put a 1.25 Ripsaw under it and it seems to be hitting around 9200. Just wondering which direction I should head in??? I've been kinda looking for a 51/43 helix but I'm not sure if that will work for me.
Current setup:
Weights: 8AB with 2.4 in the tip
Rollers: 14.5
Primary spring: P-G-P
Secondary spring: Red
Wrap: 70
Helix: 43
Gearing: 20/39
That is all stock for the Venture except the flyweights and rivets.

Your gonna need a 2.4 gram inner & leave the tip stock. That should get you a lot closer.I have a 51/43 for $70 CDN shipped if you want it.

2.4 grams per arm is going to bring the rpms down by 700? Might need more weight than that...

You have a PM!
I wondered if that was going to help enough but now I'll try it. Didn't want to go one direction only to have to turn around and buy lots of parts to go in another.yamaholic22 said:2.4 grams per arm is going to bring the rpms down by 700? Might need more weight than that...
If that isn't enough weight, could I just wrap the secondary to 80?? Would it make enough of a difference?? I noticed the stock wrap on the SXR and Vmax for that year is 80.
