Last weekend I got to ride my friend's Apex ER. The engine was wonderful, the ride was pretty nice too, but I had a hard time getting used to the engine braking when you let off the throttle.
Every time I let off the throttle all the weight shifted to the skis and it was very hard to control safely...
Do you think he has it set up right? Can you decrease the weight transfer easily? I was thinking of getting an Attack, but will not if this is how they all act...

it just takes some getting used to...dunno if it'd work, but stiffening the front shocks a lil might help for that...but then on bumps the sled will feel tippier...
I like the weight transfering to the skis in the corners personally, gives you the bite you need. It's all in getting used to it.

You can set up theskid to help on the weight transfer, but thinking back to 03' a lot of people were complaning about the engine braking, and I didn't understand, as I had performance motorcycles for years, and I use engine braking as part of normal braking.

My dad owns a Venture TF with the vector motor in it and while it was on the break in period, not going fast at all, standing up and letting off the gas a little nearly caused me to fly over the bars, lots of engine braking. Also, throtttle response was so crisp compared to that off other sleds that it takes some getting used to, along with the engine braking effect.
You will get used to it in no time at all, and really, having that engine braking does alot of good when it comes to using that to slow you down instead of your brakes in that you dont wear them out as fast.
