Help with older Phazer II

One of my latest projects is fixing up a 92' Phazer II for a relative and I've got a couple questions if anyone can help. First, it needs a new track so I'm wondering how tall I can go. I actually was just thinking about a 1" full block if possible but might go taller but also nned to stud it too. Second the stock carbs are junk and need to replace them, what are my best options?

Also want to replace the stock pipe if anybody has something let me know.
 
Do a search for the pipe in the classifieds section. I have seen a few on there. Put what ever track you can find under it. No more than 1" unless you are in the mountains. A 1" will do just fine, if it is studded you will need tunnel protectors. What is wrong with the carbs ? No reason a good cleaning will get you back on the snow. WE need more info to help you out. I would like to replace the stock butter fly carbs with some flat slides, besides they are so corroded on the intake bell from the sled sitting around the last 8 years. I've been told the biggest hinderence would be the stock carbs if I plan on piping the sled, besides a lean midrange problem.

I don't think I will go through the hassle of replacing the clips on the track because most of the studs on it a done too. That's why I'm looking for a take off track from another sled. These tracks are just the standard 121 X 15 right?

I haven't heard much feedback on the PSI pipe for these. How does it compare to the Aaen or Bender? Which of the three would be a good trail pipe?

As of now the sled is torn down to the tunnel and belly pan. Most parts have been media blasted and are going to be powder coated. All new bearings and boogie wheels. Complete rebuild on the motor etc.

It's getting to be pretty rediculous and I just keep telling myself, "It's only a Phazer!"
 
Flatslides off the vmax twins work well. You have to either can the oil injection and premix or use the cables and linkages from a 93 exciter sx to keep the oil injection. You might have to change the flipper to make the cables work. I just premixed mine.

If you need a cheap track, I've got a .85 lug off a cat that would work nicely on a phazer. It's got a couple of lugs missing (2 I think) but otherwise looks good. $50 plus the shipping. States only, too much hassle to ship UPS to Canada.

Ryan, what ratio would you suggest premixing at for general use trail riding?
What comes stock on the Vmax twins? 36TM's Thanks for the help with the cables too.

I think I have that taken care of now. A friend has a stock .88" OEM Doo take off with low miles for cheap. Is 96 studs just about right if I stud it?

Both shocks in the rear skid need to be replaced, any ideas on some cheap aftermarkets or replacements?
 
I ran mine at 32:1 but it was pretty hot and I figured oil was cheaper than pistons. I'd guess 40:1 or 50:1 with a good synthetic oil would be fine.

They were either 36 or 38. I think the 500's were smaller than the 600's but I don't know for sure.

I've never ran studs in any of my sleds, I'm a fan of big lugs and no studs so I can't help you there. I'd guess that 96 in the center would be more than enough.

In the rear skid I used Kimpex gold shocks the last time. I didn't have any complaints and they were cheap. You might want to check with Carver performance in Thief River Falls, MN. They had some Ohlins for phazer skids at Haydays this year. Price was right, but I have no idea if they still have anything kicking around.
