bought a used set of sno-stuff 45' hooks
when you guys mount them do you just cut off the end of the stock grips
and slide em in, then tighten
did any body hear of putting expandable insulation in the bars to help the heaters???

Drill out the end using the same size bit as your hook inserts. Oh, and I found on mine that there was a set screw inside the bar used to hold the handwarmer grips in place. Couldn't get it out so I just ground it down.

Is it a problem to move handgrip to the end of the handlebars and drill a new hole.Im replacing my grips cuz my end finally let go because the the grips were never at the end of the bar. And with the heat would get soft, and bend. Is the wire for the handwarmers gonna short on the end of the bars?

You sure are full of the expandable insulation ideas. Do you work for 3m or something?

no, but isn't it neat stuff LOL
heard these ideals a while ago and needless to say I got a bent trailing arm
and some handle bar ends to install so I thought I would ask

just drill the end of the grip.i use a uni-bit or you could trace the hole size with the hook and use a razor or exacto knife.you dont want to cut the end of.that leaves the chance of cutting the wire and when you get the grip or gloves wet you get a nice jolt.the sled that those came off of did that and i found out the hard way

Word!
I did the same. Drilled a hole in the ends for the hooks and just used a utility knife to shave the grip end down flush with the rest of the grip. Just work slowly and carefully and dont take too deep of a cut at a time.
