Hey everyone

I own a 2000 Venture XL which comes stock with the phazer 500 motor. It has 15000 kms on it and is very well taken care of, as in running high quality oil, Amsoil Interceptor, stored inside every night and allowing long ten minute warm ups before ride. There is still lots of compression but have not yet got a reading, and motor has never been rebuilt or even opened and is completely stock.

My problem is that today, taking the sled out for the first time since spring and firing it up for the first time as well, it didnt idle very well, and when giving it gas, it boggs down, but then picks up and runs fine in higher RPMs. However, it will not die on me, just idles like crap all of a sudden, doesnt even sound like a sled. Im thinking it is the plugs as they are the ones from last year and are all coated with oil from the summerizing and could be causing this. Going to try and put in my new iridiums tomorrow and see what that does. I have fresh gas in it too, and carbs were absolutley spotless when I took them apart a month ago. BTW, replaced all the intake gaskets around the reeds and all that to make sure there was a tight seal.

Also, there is a squealing noise coming from the fan side of the engine. I had thought it was the fan belt and bearing, so changed both of them and still is squealing. Now this is only at idle, and isnt too loud, but has been ocuring towards the end of last season and this season. I have been told that maybe it is my crank bearings or something that might be squealing but wouldnt that result in a loss of power or something, because right now, I have tones of it.

So any ideas guys before I try the new plugs tomorrow or if they dont work like im hoping, as I razz my friends about having the most reliable sled all the time and best one at that in that everything works perfectly. Dont want to lose my bragging rights and want this thing fixed so I can ride.

BTW, this has also been the very first problem with this sled so far. It has been pampered.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Tried the plugs and they helped it idle the way it should, but it still bogs down, but towards the end of my ride today, it seemed to be totally gone. Im thinking it maybe has something to do with the sled not being riden in a while and there is no nests or anything in the exhaust, it was kept in a really clean garage. Just in case anyone thought of that

The belt is brand new and is not too tight.

Thanks for the help so far guys!
