Okay guys, I was wondering if you would know whats the difference between synthetic bend and full synthetic oil? I was asked this question from a friend and I told him I think it is the same. I hope I was right..

synthetic blend is a mix of petroleum and synthetic(i'm pretty sure), fully syn. is all synthetic

I also think that is how it is. Petroleum based is cheapest, then blend, then synthetic is most expensive, with the blend being in the middle, pointing towars the possibility of it being a combination of the two.

Not too sure of what else they could "blend" into the oil, but ususally the more things you add, the more expensive it is and in this case, it is not.

Syn blend is petrolium oil with syn additives in it. It really isn't a 50/50 mix. Maxdlx

What they do is they add syn det to petrolium oil. If you have seen PV on yamalube you have seen how good semi syn works. Maxdlx

I have my theroy on the PV though but hey thats my theroy

Some synthetic blend oils don't even have hardly any synthetic in them. I'm not sure if this is the case with snowmobile synthetic blend oils, but the NAPA dealer that comes around to my dad's shop told me that alot of synthetic blend oils for cars are only about 2-5% synthetic!
