Hi guys !
Took my SRX for a 1.st christmas day ride today, together with my friend on an RS Vector Mountain.
I`ve read that you should let the SRX idle for quite a while before taking off.
I normally don`t like doing that with two strokes, but I tried it and it didn`t seem like it had to clear out alot of oil when I took off, so I figured it was OK to do as I was told.
When I take off from my house I have to ride a quite curly/tight woods trail so I ride quite slow. There is little snow so you have to take extra care not to hit shit hiding under the snow. When I came to the first real open space and I hit the throttle the plug on cylinder nr. 3. fouled, (the one near the exhaust pipes).
The two other plugs looked good, chocolate brown, maybe a little dark but I had been riding very slowly.
I changed the fouled plug and she ran just fine for the rest of the ride.
When we get more snow , which means faster riding I figure this wount be a problem, but I`m just curious... .
When I get my package from rich I will clean the power valves, could a bad-functioning PV cause a fouled plug?. (just curious).
I think I read somewhere that one of the carbs on the SRX has a larger jet, am I wrong?. I`m just thinking that since the pipes lies so close to the cylinder that maybe that cylinder runs richer in order to compensate for the extra need of lubrication ?. I might be way off track here but... you know, I`m just curious
.
I can shoot pics of the fouled plug if you want.. .
Here`s the first pic of me on my new sled.
