Hi maxdlx, thanks for replying. I ended up fixing my problem last night. First of all I could not find the fuses for the life of me and oh yeah its a 99 srx 700. I took off the black vented cowling that the pull rope goes through and still traced wires but found nothing. What i did find was the wire plug right by your foot slot that feeds under the gas tank and to the seat. I unplugged it there for the hell of it and to my amazement there was power to the tail light! So next to make sure I wasnt losing it I rechecked the plug at the tailight housing still for some reason I had brake light when I pulled brake lever but still no tail light. Then I figured Tj500 was right and must be some sort of rub through under the seat. Once I got the seat off the wires looked nice and neatly tucked away so I plugged her back in and magically i had a tailight again so what Im thinking is the connection from gas tank to seat had wiggled a little loose because all the time I had no tail light I still had brake light. Just to be safe I taped the two pluggs tighly together so it cant seperate itself. I still would like to find the damn fuse housing but all the searches i do and everything else and still I cant find much on fuses at all! Anyway I wante d to say thanks for all of your help.
