i just had the same problem yesterday with mine, it was one if the spark plug caps was rusted where it screws into the plug wire, try a new cap or one from another cylinder

Ran into the same problem!!! with my brother inlaw's 98 SRX and it ended up being the cdi box. So maybe start by checking it and the stator?

or the pulse coil
Mine was the wiring harness under the motor. Would weaken the spark enough to foul a plug when you hit the perfect little bump.
