Comet Vs Stock Clutch

I have 2 primary Clutchs sitting at my house and was wondering what one i should be using for better proformance on my 1989/87 exciter.

The one is the stock clutch with a black spring

The other one is a Comet 208-C with a red spring

i don't know jack about clutchs. So which one should i be running.
 
You've got a 108C Comet, and generally they were setup with A1 weights and a silver spring for all around applications. But depending on where you ride, such as higher elevations you could change things to suit your needs. I generally ride at 6000-8000 feet, so my Comet is set with A3 weights and a silver/orange spring, which provides me with a 3500 RPM engagement and my max RPM is 7900, perfect for what I do!
 
I had a 87 Exciter and I put a Commet 108EXP on it. I tried the recommended silver spring and A1 weights (49g), but it over revved all the time. After a bit of playing I found that the Comet blue spring (or even the yellow one ) with some Cat 53.6g weights made the old Exciter just wicked!!! I had so many people tell me that the 87 exciter would "never pull that heavy a weight", but it did!!

The best quote was form a guy riding a Polaris XC800. He got off his sled, looked at me and said "I can't believe you're still on my tail!!!" I was gnawing on his snow flap all day.

Turk may have some recommendations for your sled, but the Comet clutch let's use use Cat, Polaris weights etc. So you have options.
