B9eix in srx

I tried doing a search but didnt come up with anything. Everybody is saying to run the br9ecs's in the srx but how about a BR9EIX iridium plugs in the srx. i have a few laying around. $10 a plug, hate to see them go to waste. i assume you can run them and be even better than the br9ecs?
 
I ran them in mine last year and will continue to this year. I did not foul one of the plugs out and it seemed to run very well with them in it. I highly recommend them and because you already have them, you are golden!
 
but i hear that you can possibly burn a motor down with the es or equivelant. Do i have to worry about that with the ix?
 
The ECS plug comes with a different gap than the ES. just make sure your gap if good and you will be fine.

Doo's use the ECS and i used to by the cheaper ES' and regap them.
 
collapse the elctrode???, what do you do pry against them???? thats just not accurate information, when you gap a plug you bend the ground strap not pry against the elctrode!!, if ya get a good spark plug gapping tool, not the old 1950's style either, they bend the strap, nothing to do with prying aginst center elctrode.

they say not to gap iridium plugs because of the fine iridium center, the electrode sticks past the base so there is not really a way to check the gap safely or a way to change the gap

Glad somebody is getting a kick out of this ovalracer, 'cause I aint.

bingo, it's very delicate, and the feeler gauge can mangle it, atleast that's what the NGK rep had to say on the matter, same goes with the Bosch equivelant.

take it for what it's worth tho, could just be the NGK rep trying to avoid warranty claims.
 
up in canada you can still buy the ES plugs.

EIX is supossed to give a stroger spark than the ES, which sould mean less resistance in the plug itself and more available to jum the gap. Almost willing to bet theEIX give the same spark starength as the smaller gappd ECS.

Didn't now about the electrode bending part thereon the IX never had problems with that.
 
I bought some eix plugs for my car and when i tried to gap one the electrode broke on me.
Whats the best plug to run in a viper the es or the ecs or the eix plugs ?
