Hey all first "real" post here. Nice forum. I've ridden a few different sleds, usually a mid-90's something and borrowed. Decided to buy a few of my own for myself and my wife. Chose Yamaha because of all the sleds I've used that were borrowed from friends over time the yammi's seemed the most dependable and IMO the most fun to ride. No matter what others say about the suspension or this or that, it's a great sled.
So here I am and I'd like some help/ideas on how to improve my 98 Mountain Max and my wife's 99 phazer.
Here's some things I'd like:
powder bar
dual throttle assemblies
raise the bars, add hooks
any handling improvements are always nice/suspension
some suggestions on which brand/length carbides etc.
Anyone know how high you can raise the stock bars w/o having to get a longer brake line and throttle cable? If I can sneak by with just a spacer that would be sweet. I'm mainly talking about doing up the Mountain Max but if anyone has some good suggestions on how to improve a Phazer I'm all ears.
Well thanks for having me. See you around the forums and most likely in the parts section. Anyone know of some good vendors with great prices on OEM or aftermarket stuff?

this is a write-up in the tech pages on how to put a 3.5" riser with stock cables, go to misc.
I have a 2" riser on my srx and i personally wouldnt go any higher, works great
If the MM is a tripple definetly get the clutching done and tripple pipes

I used a Powermadd pivot adaptor with a 2" riser block in my SXR. This setup raises the bars up and forward about 3.5". I only use it on my trips to the mountains as they're just a bit too tall for my taste on the trails. On the trails I use a 2" riser. The best part is that all the cables, wires, and hoses work without modification.
