I decided to give the old girl a face lift this year.. I'm changing over to all black hood and a black viper seat with the attached customed graphics inspired by the nytro. Someone already caught my mistake on the the tunning fork. Its too late to fix it on my decals, they are supposed to be here tommorrow.. I'll post some more pictures when its done.

I'm going to do the yamaha logo in the center of the hood with flames up the sides. Yamaha w/logos on the trailing arm. If anyone wants something similiar let me know and we can probably work something out.

Wow. thats exactly what I was going to PM Redmater and as him if he could do it. But I wanted it to be top secret. :(

I checked with Red last year and he was not able to do full color printing. I got these done pretty reasonable. They are in my mail box so when I get home I can check the quality. The only thing is that they are not die cut.

Do you have to cut them out yourself?! I'd hate to copy your sled. My hoods been black for the last year, with no graphics, and I decided I need to do somehting with it. Hurry up and get yours done so I can see what it looks like. ;)!

Here it is.

Yes I had to cut them out. I attached a picture of the sheet they were on. Only in a couple places can you see a little opaque white on the edges. If I would have been smart I would have made an outline on the original and then had the printer print it on a white back ground. It would have been like a second grade art project then. Overall I think they turned out pretty sweet I think. The center decal was a pain in the *ss its got a few bubbles or lent underneath it. Looks good from 2ft plus away. The detail in the flames is really good and the black matches as good as you could expect.

I have to paint my trailing arms black and put the yamaha decals on them. Then I have a couple more fire balls that I might put on the tunnel.

They were printer was pretty reasonable if you are interested.

I'll post some more pictures when I get the whole sled together.

thanks, can wait to see yours all finished,i dig flames... my sx maybe sporting a set of real look flames as well.

Yeah. I think I might have to copy your sled now.. How are you planning on painting your trailing arms? I painted mine with rattle cans, but did a pretty decent prep job on them, and they didnt last one season.. If you honestly dont mind, could you PM the info on the printer, and possibly about what it will cost me?

More than likely rattle cans. I was going to use Industrail Rustoleum. What did you use?

I might powder coat them but they are too big for my oven so I have to use my infared curer which does a shitty job of controling the temperature and makes the powder coat brittle.. Atleast that's what I believe happened to the trailing arms that I powder coated before. But they were powdered with a chrome like color which never holds up... I powder coated the radius rods yellow and they are pretty beat up. I don't really feel like sand blasting which is the main reason I was thinking about using the rattle cans. But I might change my mind by the time I get around to doing it next weekend.

Mistake Explained

Jweid:

Not to be nit-picky but the latest SnoGoer explains the difference between the Yamaha Corp. and the Yamaha Motor logos. I just got home last night and had the newest issue waiting for me. The Motor logo has the tuning forks touching the outer edge of the circle and the Corp. does not. They look GREAT either way. Nice job.

waht did u use to paint ur hood? waht kind of paint, pred.....and what about ur belly pans, how do u paint those?do they look good painted?

I used laquer spray bombs on the hood. With a lot of wet sanding. The belly pans were black. I'm goning to powder coat the trail arms tommorrow. I'll have some completed pics at the end of the week. Jason

wow, impressed that is spray bomb!!! you ever powder coat anyhting for people? might want some smaller stuff done next summer for my old trail twister MERC. let me know, I will keep you in mind
