After riding my 05 RX-1 the Vmax headlights feel like a nightlight! Is there an easy solution to increase the brightness on the Vmax light?

sylvania silverstars, bright bulb about 30 bucks for two, then get an led tail light so it doesnt dim when you hit the brakes about 7 bucks. can get boh at any car parts store.

For other ideas do a search, this has come up alot lately.

I tried that HID route but could not get the battery to charge right. I dumped it to get money for some other projects. The other problem was that you were always using the low beam of the reflector. While this provide outstanding light I was always wanting to see further out no matter how high I adjusted it.

Did the PIAA and the silverstar for a motorcycle H4 60w...brighter but you still see your shadow when one of the newer sleds are behind...whiter light then stock...go with the silverstar the PIAA cost $38 and the package said light like a 100w but i did not see the difference back to back...the silverstar was $25....CP

i got eurodezigns bulbs off ebay for $17 shipped for my last sled (polaris 1995 xcr 600) and the bulb was a helluva lot brighter than the original bulb. My friend has a 1990 indy 500 and he put a silverstar in it and my 95 was much much brighter. I don't know if my sled had a higher output electrical system or not, but I definitely noticed the eurodezigns bulb was brighter and less expensive. Lifetime warranty. They only charge you $7 or so to replace the bulbs! I bought a pair for my 2001 sxr 700, but they haven't arrived yet. After installation and a test run (if we ever get snow again), I will post the results vs. stock lighting.

Did you also change the tail light bulb to an LED to compensate for the higher current draw? Autozone has the Silverstars for $19.95 and the LED for about $6 here in Grand Rapids. I figure for $26 and change I could have brighter bulbs at both ends of the sled...

I made the swap to the silverstar and i changed one bulb and fired up the sled to see the diff. , and there is a huge diff , the silverstar has the same watts but it is just a brighter light, its white light but it does have a blueish tint to it , not as blue as a blue tint but is does have a blueish tint , to me they are alot better ...

i do run a led rear light ..

Im also running the silverstar and its alot brighter than the the stock one. but it dims bad when you hit the brakes if you dont get the led tail light

You and I have the same headlight... what wattage bulb did you get then? I was looking at them the other day and could not remember for the life of me which to get. Did you stick with the dual beam bulb? If memory serves me it The silverstar was like 50/65 or something like that.

I just got the exact replacement for my bulb only in the silverstar. pretty sure its the 50/65 or something like that... the wattage numbers on the silverstar and the stocker are the same.

I used a 100/80 watt Xenon bulb very bright and has the blue tint to it.
I needed the LED tail light and no dimming at all when applying brakes and runing heated visor.

im usin the same set up as yammy is on my sxr. it dims a heck of a lot less than with the stock tail lamp bulb than with the led. its only a 500 so my stator isint as strong as his is on his 700 ;)!

Anyone have a part number for the LED tail light or atleast what is the base? I picked up a Silverstar this weekend and will try it out.

Picked up the Silverstar headlight at Autozone last night.... and a package of TWO LED's for the tail light. They didn't have them packaged in a single pack... so I ended up paying $16 for one tail light as I have NO use for the other one.... unless one of the sled heads here at work want's to give me $8 for it... we'll see.

THEN, I went to Advance Auto parts down the street.... they have the Silverstarts on sale.... sort of. There are two rebates on them... one at the register and one mail in. When all is said and doen you pay $10.40 for a single bulb. I paid $20 for one bulb at Autozone.... I'll be bringing the bulb back to Autozone today and then going to Advance for the deal! Oh, and Advance didn't carry LED tail lights. Bummer!

Which Silverstar bulb # are you guys using? I've never seen an H4 bulb at any of the local stores.

I've got 99 and 00 MMs I'd like to put brighter bulbs in.
