Brighter headlights, easy solution?

they are the silverstar for motorcycles, h4 hook up , the box says for motorcycles only , i got mine at a auto zone.

The silverstar I bought said right on the package (H4). Was not a "motorcycle only" bulb. I had the stock one with me and compared the two side by side.... identical except for the lummens given off I guess. Same 3 prong plug.

If I'm not mistaken the H4 bulb is the same as a 9003. I have a 2000 Valkyrie and replaced the H4 it had originally with the 9003 this last summer. It was a big improvement.

Edit: I forgot to mention that it was a 9003 Sylvania Silverstar.

not that you can tell from that pic lol! next time I am up riding I will take a night pic of the headlights for the seat to show how bright they are :)

I installed the Silverstar bulb this weekend. I did not drive the sled out on the trail yet but just from starting in at night I can already tell there is a huge difference!!!
As far as an LED taillight. I picked one up and one of the auto stores and installed it. I took it out right away and returned it though. I was not happy with it. For some reason it was about half as bright as the stock one. Any ideas as to why? I am not sure who the manufacture was...

Was it red LED or white? My understanding is the lens will let more red light through than white light.

Sorry I forgot to mention it was a red LED.....

Great... the only ones I could find were red, so that's what I bought... haven't installed it yet but now you have me thinking I might have to continue the search.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear but the Red is the one you want.

I got the ultra expensive ones off of britelites.net and they cost a lot, but are quite a bit brighter than stock, or at least they seemed it :) are they different then what you have? they are clear, but is the design different?

The only ones Checker or AutoZone had around here only had the LED's on the end of the bulb... I went out to Dennis Kirk and they had LED's all the way around the bulb and on the end. They should be here today or tomorrow! We'll see how they do...

I just purchased the twin LED red tail light bulbs from autozone and they are alot brighter than stock. They were made by jamstraight and had 12 red leds. My headlight and dashlight no longer dim when I hit the brakes in my 94 Vmax 600. They cost me 16.99 for both. 18.01 with tax.

Will this work?

Would these fit as a back light for a 96 Vmax XT ? The only specs I got from Yamaha's site is 12V-23/8W. 03Viperguy said for the Viper's taillights it was a 1157 base. Same thing for me? This light only says Eurolite LED Light Bulb, White Universal fit. I guess Ill have to check on the box.

Some 1157 45 leds light on ebay say it's a dual filament low and high, double contact, DC 12v 24w. I'm thinking 24 watt is when you put the brake but if they don't say the low watt it must be close to the original 8 watt no?

Why did you guys buy red? Was the stock one red? The plastic cover on top should be sufficient to give the red glow...

with the red tail lens and a clear bulb (like I have) the stock bulb is actually brighter. I need the red ones since you can barely see my rear light with the clear ones :(

I just bought one of those new xenon bulbs at the Novi show for my 2000 sxr and it works awesome. Go to bluhmenterprises.com for more info. I think around $30 bucks for 2 bulbs.
