Well, Ive had the skid for awhile now and finally got the KAHUNA'S to install it! Sure wish we had some snow and whooped out trails!! Can't wait to try it out. At 150lbs , I didn't have any set-in with the NO-action on the softest spring settings, :o| but the cat skid squash's down nice ;)! just like my Cat Sno-Pro.

2000 and older werent coupled. the ride isnt great and they transfer hard all the time. there is a coupling kit avaliable though in dennis kirk.
 
I insalled it myself , it was actually pretty easy once i figured out exactly where the mounting holes were going to be. I did have to shave about 3/16" off each of the front mounts , it was a little wider than the pro-action skid.

N2oiroc, yeah, I knew it wasn't coupled, but either is my sno-cross sled. I figured I would get a few miles on it and add the coulpling blocks later if I don't like all the transfer.
 
cool, im going to have to do the same.....

i turned my rails into a pretzel last weekend, so i got a m7 141 on the way. this should be fun. i need to make custom drop brackets....etc

should be fun
 
I've been pondering the same thing. I have a zr600 suspension sitting in the garage and have been thinking of installing it. I was curious if you could give me some measurements for reference incase i decide to do it. greatly appreciate it Sno-xr.

I will get some drawings and pics and post them soon, but I do want to make sure the the setup im using works well enough! I'm pretty confident it will, but without a tipped tunnel(like the Cats) Its possible I will have to lower the rear a touch to prevent the track from hitting!

The reason for swapping the skid is the same as everyone who has installed an Expert-X or M-10, the cat skid was just in the po-boy's price range!LOL
If you ride reasonably agressive in the bumps, the Yami skid can't handle them, mine pitches from one side of the trail to the other. The Cat skids have always handled the large bumps well and also transfers weight awsome(helps carry the ski's over the bumps).

Put about 300 miles on the skid at the Muni TY ride. A definite improvement over the pro-action. Ran it through a variety of conditions,from small studders ,trail 88, to large ones,trail 8 , Icey corners and snow covered ones. Hit some high speed large bumps with little, if any, kickback! Took a lot of studder bumps sitting down that i wouldn't have been able to with the pro-action(I only weigh 155lbs ,studders usually rattle my A**). I was able to rail corners no problem so i wont be putting the transfer blocks on!( my own personall prefernce )
