Stopped into my local Polaris / SkiDoo / Yamaha Dealership tonight and was blown away by the prices on the Yamahas.
2006 Yamaha NYTRO ER: $6,999
2006 Yamaha APEX RTX (with reverse): $8,599
The above prices do not include $267 for freight and prep..
I guess Yamaha is serious about gaining market share. Got me really thinking about the NYTRO.

WOW! They just eliminated one of the ridiculous bashes that so commonly arise on the other sites. I think That is very competitive.

the local yamaha dealer hasn't sold a single nytro yet - he is out of Attak and Apex, even has sold some ventures, but no nytro's. Says he thinks it was marketed incorrectly (ditchbanger?)

It's Filer's Powersports (http://www.filerspowersports.com ) in Upstate NY. Tell 'em Trail Ryder sent you.
Yeah, I can't really understand the NYTRO's lack luster sales. I thinks it's a great sled and my #1 pick if I was going to buy a Yamaha ... as I don't need a 150 HP 4 cylinder for 99% of the riding I do. I think true "ditch bangers" want a light-weight 2-stroke, though.
If I was to buy a NYTRO, I'd remove the "flame" graphics and see if I could put a real windshield on it. Just because I'm an aggressive trail rider doesn't mean I want to freeze.

The nytro isnt a 150hp 4-cyl, its a 120hp 3-cyl.
I think what he meant was that he doesn't need a 150hp 4 cylinder, and that the Nytro would suit his style of riding just fine....please correct me if I'm wrong.
i dont think any dealers in sask. sold any nitros. either. talked to my dealer topday and they sold all the fi sleds in stock but now still have alot of the 120 hp sleds, they have a left over 05 vector in stock yet at his cost of, i think 8000.00 can. cant sell it, in canada i think its less then 1500 what they sell for
If the nytro was a 136, I'd consider one. Never own another 121 again. Maxdlx
comin off mt piped viper or my rx, i could not handle drivin 120 hp.

I think it's more like your local shop that's interested in gaining market share...I don't see any other dealers whacking prices like that, so it's probably not a Yamaha directive.
Nevertheless, those are some killer deals. I was primed to pull the trigger and get one this year, but I'm glad I didn't... it's been in the 40's around here for the last couple weeks, and it looks like it's going to stay that way for another couple weeks.... I've got open water off my dock right now. I hear Northern Michigan is taking a beating as well.
That'd suck to buy a brand new sled and not be able to use it.

Interesting. I was at my dealer in Brainerd this morning, kind of looking to see if they had any Nytros to trade my Vector in on. They have only 2 Yammies left in stock, a Vector and a Rage. They told me the Nytros were the first to go, they sold a bunch of 'em.woolyviper said:the local yamaha dealer hasn't sold a single nytro yet - he is out of Attak and Apex, even has sold some ventures, but no nytro's.
