Hey guys, major problem here. Just kidding. :) My tachometer is loose on my sled (2000 SX-R 700). Just loose enough so that it slides around in the hole a little. This causes the light bulb to burn out due to it bouncing around. I tried just tightening up the bracket bolts but they seem pretty darn snug in there arleady and I don't want to break the plastic brackets by going any further. Do you guys know if there's a gasket or some other method that'll help me get my tach all snugged up again? Figure I'll ask first, pull it apart later. Thanks guys! :rocks:

want the easy fix? buy a tube of black rtv silicone, and place a nice bead of it around the back of the tach to the dash, smear it lightly with your finger, let it dry untouched overnight and it wont move anymore, simple enough to remove later also.

There is a rubber gasket that goes around the tach. Check to see that you have it. If you do then just buy another. I guessing but I think they're only about 3/32 to 1/16 thick.

Thx guys. I've never had the tach off since buying this sled brand new so I assume the original gasket is still in there. Maybe it has gone bad. I think I'm gonna try pulling the gauge and then using the silicone trick that mrviper700 suggested. Ok, out the the garage to pull that puppy! Thanks again!
