SRV 540 with windshield off
I am the last guy, brian, then my bro, driver was from Il. I think his name is Randy
I think the sled might have come from Rock River Marine in Byron Il.

Yes it did!! Terry Palmer is the owner and this pic is on his wall of fame. I have an 83 and 86 SRV and they WILL cross water, even with the stock track. Did it by accident one night just outside of Tomahawk, WI. DON'T want to do that again LOL!

Dave

Must be from Iowa/IL area..haha! This one is from the Waspi Near Davenport Iowa.

Hey Dave my bro lives in Byron, I think some of the guys were from around there,
We just happen to meet them and all rode togeather that day to Bauers Dam in Canover (spelling is wrong?) I think Randy ? owns a landscaping business is not in the picture can't remember the guys names on the sled, but we all had a good time.
My brother bumps into some of them once in a while, not at the dealer he rides poo.

Snake, I worked at the nuke plant outside of Byron during construction. I live about 30 miles north of there. Terry Palmer is a real little guy, but a heck of a mechanic and rider. His setup is in my 86 and it used to run pretty good. The Viper is WAY better, but I still have a lot of fond memories of that 86. Do you live close to Maxdlx? Just wondering.

Dave :yrules:

Paul lives in Tipton? I think , I am in Oelwein hwy 150 & 3
been by the nuke plant several times, rode sleds there (around Byron) last year and my kids were in a magazine I think it was a Il. state snow mag. under a letter from the president?? I know my kids have copys at home that my brother Steve gave them.
only been in Rock River once back in @ 90 a friend bought a sled there

Paul is about 2 miles outside of Tipton, I leave closer to Davenport myself. We are only about 1/2hr from each other.

We should get together and ride.

???Byron are you talking Port Byron, IL.?? Just sold my sx500r to a guy there.

Actually been to Bennet. Was out there for Paul's wedding. But we are talking about Byron, not Port Byron. Been there, too! US88 used to deadend near there a LONG time ago. Talk Paul in to trailering to Tomahawk WI. when we get snow. ( yah, the power of positive thinking LOL). Got a place to stay there right on a lake with the trail running across it. Later,

Dave :yrules:

You were at his wedding? Me 2. My wife was sick, so it was just our two kids and myself.

I have a 3-place trailer and a '01 extended cab truck...When we going? ;)!

I just saw ..SNAKBITE..'s avatar and had to bump this old thread. I had a feeling alcohol was involved in this tour the force. ha ha ha

Could I do this with an SRX ? Just teasing SRX7.

Nice vid. Did you close any vents in the front? I was watching a snowmobile show and they featured water skipping. One guy mentioned the only true way of doing it was not to duck tape any air opening so not to over heat the engine. Obviously riskier since you can get water on the belt but better on the machine. It made sense at the time until I was reading in the SRX manual that you can close some front vents on the hood if you go in deep powder snow. Anyone close these vents sometimes? I guess as long as you have anough snow for the intercooler your fine.
