No, I didn't close any. If any water came in there, it would quickly evaporate if they hit something in there other than the clutc. I remember it was like +5c out, and the underhood temps were pretty high. I think those wents are too far from the clutch itself anyway. The siliconing bit is the answer.

One guy mentioned the only true way of doing it was not to duck tape any air opening so not to over heat the engine. Obviously riskier since you can get water on the belt but better on the machine. It made sense at the time until I was reading in the SRX manual that you can close some front vents on the hood if you go in deep powder snow. Anyone close these vents sometimes? I guess as long as you have anough snow for the intercooler your fine.
