Well, I finally found the time to install an RX1 skid into my SRX. Thanks guys for your input in previous posts!

I ended up replacing the RX shocks with Viper shocks, installed advantage shock extensions for the Ohlins in the front suspension. I also installed a Camo 9818 1.25". This machine is a whole new animal. My mudflap no longer drags on the snow, it actually sits up pretty high.

As for clutching and gearing, I won't be able to get out and test that for little while because I am still putting the finishing touches on my Mountain RX1. So much to do, so little time.

Wouldn't it make so much more sense to do this stuff in the summer rather than wait until the last minute when it's minus 30???

Anyway, I would recommend longtravelling an SRX to anyone. I am not a groomed trail rider and I am constantly in the bumps and the lakes so this makes a huge difference for me.

I used the same transfer rods that were on the RX1 skid. I couldn't use the Stealth transfer rods from my SRX skid because they are too short.

It is a 121. The skid is from an 03 RX1 LE. The ride is much better and it takes the hard moguls better too. I didn't like the look of the mud flap touching the snow either. Now the machine looks "normal" to me sitting higher up. You can do the same thing with your existing SRX skid. All you need to do is install RX1 or Viper shocks and change the transfer rods. Then you have a longtravelled SRX. Add extensions to your front shocks to even it out.

i already have a 121 long travel skid but i am looking for a 136 longtravel for a project i am doing sounds like you got a nice ride now
