"the viper submarine"

Glad your O.K.

Timebomb, Glag you and the sled are o.k., I know where you are talking about been threw there myself but never went in! I remember riding alot of creeks and rivers growing up around Madrid/Waddington, they were always the best trails back then! I had a few run in's with shell ice and heard the Cracking and change in exhaust sound quite a few time but never dropped all the way down. The Viper looks awsome! Enjoy and take care, Terry

thanks bluebullet.

finally got some pics of the recovery effort on january 8th. i'm in some of the pics. i'll have to edit one and circle myself. bluebullet you'll probably recognize the bridge. my sled was right under the bridge by the wadd. boatlaunch and 37. 1st pic is from standing on the edge of the bridge looking down.

bad news finally came to the viper

was supposed to go riding today so i could get some miles on my sled and make sure it would be ok. my buddy showed up this morning to load it and i couldn't get it to run :o| . it started hard then once it was running it would barely stay running. it was running probably 30 secs and died, i changed all the spark plugs and tried again. couldn't get it to start, i probably pulled on it 20 times, it just sputtered once. must be water in the fuel pump or in the carbs or something, doesn't make sense b/c it ran fine for the 20 miles i put on it a couple of weeks ago. good news is i still went riding, just borrowed my moms 05 rx1 ;)!
so we'll hafta tear into her this weekend and figure it out.
everything was looking good until now :o| :o|

thats to bad....sucks that you had to take the rx-1......NOT!!!....LOL

Water is heavier than gas. what did you do to the fuel system. A little water in the carb and it wil run like doodoo. You make think you got it all out then here comes some more. My son decided to top off the gas tank in his 4 wheeler when he was 4 with aquafina.

sorry to hear the bad news :( let us know when it all gets figured out. maybe some dirt in the gas finally plugged a jet?

Glad to hear you are o.k and the sled is almost running well...Nice pics, it looked like quite the production...

Not to hyjack the thread but here is my water experience a few weeks back.

Fell in the lake and had a short swim..Went back to cottage with brother and got a manual winch ( come along ) and went back for the sled..Got the sled out and put it on a trailer...Took it to a warm garage and did some work...There was frozen water in the chaincase, pipe, block, etc....I pulled it hundreds of time to get moisture out of the block and kept spraying storage lube in..Drained gas from tank and drained chaincase...Got it running fine the next morning and figured I was good to go...Took it to the cottage and it would not start...Water in carbs had frozen and the fuel pump also froze..I have left it out in the cold a couple nights and so far so good...
I plan to change bearings and such in the summer...

Good luck again with yours...

A few pics of mine..In the first you can see the white of the decal at the end of the rope..

more bad luck

well not for the sled anyway. got my sled back, seems to be running fine, still NO SNOW to test it. anyways, had a 5 day trip planned to go riding up in quebec, supposed to leave today. BUT, i caught the flu that has been going around so i'm sitting this trip out. so, so far i've missed 3 trips to quebec to go riding which wouldn't be a big deal but this year it is since we haven't had enough snow to ride around here since the middle of december! i have a feeling that i'm just not supposed to ride my sled this year. should have left it in storage and waited for next year. end of febuary and i've only put 135 miles on my sled. rest of the winter doesn't look promising. :o| just felt like venting #$%&* just not my year :o|

i hear ya. i and my buddy that sank his zr9 have the least miles on out of all our friends we ride with. i 've pretty much given up on this season. i could care less about riding my sled now, might as well put it away. i'm looking forward to spring and getting my waverunner out!!!
