For anyone that has placed a coolant gauge on your sled, did you (or can you) just "T" off of where the temp sensor is located on the head? I am assuming this is just for the dumym light and nothing else.

Thanks

non power valve engines

You can mount a temperature sender on the bottom of the head underneath the outlet that looks like a thermostat housing.

It looks as if you would have to modify the head to place the probe in that spot. I was thinking placeing a "T" on item #9

Drill and tap on the VMAX if you want to keep the idiot light also... There is a flat there from casting. Depending on the diameter of the sensor you might be able to put it in the housing but I doubt it.

I was thinking about the head with out the heated carbs since mine does not have it. For the sensor to work in the tee I would think that you would have to be running with the carb heaters on. I wouldn't think the flow rate through there would be all that great and who knows how much heat is lost or gained in all the material surrounding the sensor.
