Got a brighter bulb for my 97 V max... but for the life of me I can't remember how the gold colored formed wire goes back on the dang thing. I have them sitting right here in front of me if anyone can help!!

Help!!!

The diagram doesn't show a wire and I have no idea how this thing went back together.... took it apart last week in a hurry. Goes somewhere the red arrow is pointing.

Waterfoul,
I hope this comes through; if not, send me an e-mail address and I'll send it directly to you.

Man does that help! I have it backwards... I'll let you know how it comes out... gotta run to the hardware store...

Damn, just called and they closed 7 minutes ago! Grrr....

Which bulb did you use Waterfoul?

Just the other day, I installed a new PIAA 135w super plasma bulb and it is much brighter than the old zenon one I had in, which was brighter than stock! Iv changed bulbs so much already that I do the whole job in under a minute.

I got it through the Motovan catologue at my dealer.

Here is a link to the catologues site. Just click on the blue snowmobile catolgue picture, then type in page 143.

The bulb I got is the type H4 super plasma GT-X. And yes, it is anti vibration.

Light Bulbs

watch out installing high output light bulbs in pre 2000 yamahas as the charging systems are not strong enough to handle them and you will fry your charging system

also watch the led tail light.... they dont create the heat a standard bulb does, and your tail will ice up much faster..... they cant miss u, if they cant see u.....

Lukily, mine is newer than 2000 and I was aware of that possibility, but the info I did get from checking around showed that the older sleds like the old 340 enticer and 440 SRX are to weak to power that light, but the modern sleds can. Plus, I have that battery so it should help with the strain on the system.

A habbit I've gotten into is every time we stop... even if it's only for 60 seconds... I reach back and take a swipe at my tailight... keeps it clean.
