I recently changed the rivets in my 8CR weights on my 97 600 XTC V Max. Went from a double shot of 3.1g rivets to having a 4.3g in the tip and a 3.1 in the inner hole.

What kind of RPM drop can I expect with this set up? I was over revving quite bad with the two small rivets (could hit 9000 easy I'm sure). I have a second set of 4.3g I can swap into the inner hole if necessary, but am hoping this change is enough.

Also, what does the heavier wieght do to your shifting?

So by adding the 1.4 grams to the tip I'm only going to see a reduction in rpm of about 140?? I don't know a lot about clutches but that doesn't seem like much. Or are you saing that I can add up 140 3 times (3 weights, 1.4 grams each) for a total of ~420 rpm???

For every 1 gram you add to each weight it will drop the rpm roughly 150 rpm as a general rule of thumb. For you adding 1.4 grams it will generally drop it about 200 rpm.
