Hi I'm new to TY, and on the advice from one of your senior members, I am coming to you for help. I ride a 97 sx 700, and this year I bought a set of hammer time heel ckicker 2s for it. My problem is that the spring that the give you with the kit is twice as long as stock. I have been advised that I need a "long spring primary cap". When I requested on from my local yammy dealer they had never heard of this, but eventually came up with one for 130$ So I'm in the market for a good used one if anyone can help me out. Also if anyone has any good set-ups for me.
Thanks
Thanks

Yes you need the tall primary cap. You should be able to find one on E-bay or maybe even this site.

your going to need a long bolt and washer's, spacer's you will put it through the midlle of the clutch shaft you need this because even with the tall cap the red and grey springs are so long that you cant push hard enough down on the cap to engage the cap screws also on a 97 make shure heel of the weight clears the clutch sheave when fully shifted the part number for the tall cap is 8DF-17630-00-00

after talking to a few people and thinking about the benifits and cons i went to turk for help i came to the conclusion that with a little bit of tinkering and alot of paitance a combination of the right weights spings and helix you can get an incredible set up for example my weights are 8ch the same as yours green silver green spring roller secondary 47/41 helix green spring at 60 to 70 deg going to try a silver at 60 oh ya my sleds a 2000 sxr bender triples v force reads motor is bone stock comes in at 4200 rpm hits 8700 real quick and stays there. just remember do one thing at a time record your results dont change everything at once our your just going to chase your tail all over the place also make sure your clutch's are in good shape bushings and rollers if the sheaves stick at all you wont get good results no matter what you do. tune your engine rpm with your primary then move on to your secondary
