New Hacksaw...quick question

Clip it and be done with it. The tool MR recommends works like a charm. 15 to 20 min and your done. No need to start removing stock stuff that is there for a reason. If you ever decide to stud, your happy they are there.

It's just sad that people have to cut down the lugs of the larger lug track that they just bought!

If you have the track out then removing the protectors is a five minute job. How long does it take to clip an entire track (I'm interested).

Maybe I'll get my buddy to whip up some thinner protectors which will allow for a 1.25" track lug (Rip Saw) and still protect the heat exchanger. I wonder if there's a big enough market? Thoughts?

I know that if I ever have to take my track back out, then I'm going to re-install my protectors after I've modified them to allow for a little more room.

The important thing is that we're riding Yamaha!!

We've finally got some snow here in Winnipeg, but now we need some cold weather to freeze the water ways. Two groomers have gone down already!!

Cheers,

I went ahead and clipped the lugs down today. Very little to it done in under 10 mins.
Not much affected anyway, none of the primary lugs were touched ,and over the windows some sections are blank anyway and the ones that arent have very small nubs. Can't imagine it making a difference in tracktion. Maybe we'll get enough snow in the next couple of weeks where I can test the new track out.(Exciter, removing protectors wasn't an option,My track is studded, thanks though)
Thanks for all the input guys
