I have my 2002 srx jetted to -20f specs, but the needles are on 2,5 instead of 3,5. Then I have a tempaflow which is set on the rich position (1/
turns clockwise. My problem is that the dcs light will come on if I run it hard or wot it. Yes I have warmed up the 1 mile, and it is close to 32f (0c), it probably is like -2c here and it will come on at wot. If it is a little colder, say -8c, then I can't even get past the midrange before it starts to blink, if I do, then the blinking will stop for a second and then turn up again in wot..
I believe that the dcs in fact works, because some guys (I don't remember their name) here said that they cured the dcs blinking problem on their srx s when they jetted up a bit. What is wrong with my set up? I have now a outlet tube that is 18,5 inches long, well within the specs in the instruction manual. I even tried a tube that was 24 inches long, which is max length in the instructions, no difference. The only thing which I can think of that will trigger the dcs is the needle position, but it always goes off in the top end, exept yesterday, then it didn't for a strange reason. I have checked the system as much as you can without going into the airbox, everything seems to be air tigth.. The dcs will blink more and more the colder it gets..
What is wrong?? Suggestions before I throw it in the trash can?

rich position 1/?????? , rich would be clockwise from the mark 1/8
I would try it un-hook and if the dcs light come on, jet another size bigger

1/ eight clockwise from the dot, yes that's where I have it... You seriously mean to unhook the the tempaflow? or completely remove it? I'm pretty sure it will burn down if you just unhook the tube... I already have it jetted pretty high..
Where is the main vent for the tempaflow coming from? If you installed it per the srxspec picture in the tech pages then you have to jet up one size, if you installed it with the vent connected to a elbow down through the shelves so it picks up air in the same spot as the stock carb vents, you can un hook that and it will richen it up slightly because of the pressure different between the top shelf and the stock carb vent part of the air box.
No no, I installed it on a srx, following the instructions included and "srxdude"s install on the tech pages.. If you mean the air intake, it is coming from behind the air box.
You can unhook it, by just unplugging the vent lines from the tube. This is how they used to tell you to bypass them. You will then be full rich. Maxdlx
ps I'd move the needles first
ps I'd move the needles first
Thanks max. I'll have to find someone to raise the needles, then try again, if it doesn't work then Ill throw it.
If moving the needles doesn't fix it on wot, go 1 size bigger. Maxdlx
Maxdlx, I unplugged the vent lines and gave WOT. Being full rich, the dcs light still came on after a long pull... whats up with that, it wasn't near -20f it was a whole lot less cold than that..
It is still sensing a lean condition. Kill it when the light starts flashing and pull the plugs. It could be 1 cylinder lean, and not all of them. Did the mid range lean go away unplugged. The warmer the temps the more the tempa flow leans it out. So if you are off at -20 you are off everywhere. With it being off bypassed, i'd bett you need bigger mains. Maxdlx
No, the midrange lean didn't go away, but the sled fetl real doggy with the vent line unhooked. Ok I'll give it 2 more chances.. first raise the needle, and then 1 jet size up. Do you mean by that like going from 152 to 153?
Maxdlx, I have #152,5 and 151,3 on the other 2, which is good for -20f. Surely at +5 degrees fahrenheit unplugged, the dcs should not blink at top end if I am using the mains only? Should I jet to 153,8 and 152,5?
If you have the jets try it. How do the plugs look. Maxdlx
