Hello to all,
Well, after 10 years running my Phazer I decided this year I was getting pretty pissed removing/installing that damn airbox. If it was easier I'd leave it there, but after getting some foam filters for free I think I'll try them on. I'm looking for any input, good/bad experiences... Engine is stock, except a Bender single pipe. How many sizes up for mj's on average? midrange leanness?
It's not the main sled but still fun to drive...

Removing the airbox is not a good idea. You will have increased problems with the mid-range lean spot and you will actually loose HP. The stock carbs are set to run at a specific pressure that's created by the airbox... Removing it will create more problems than it will solve. Phazerowner

I Agree, DO NOT REMOVE THE BOX!! You will be buying pistons for sure.

X3 don't do it you WILL have problems.
So it's that bad, eh? I would assume that properly jetted it should work...
Oh well better be safe than sorry, I guess I'll keep the filters for the weed whacker!
