My gas gage on my 99 sx 500 is not working properly. Last year I had some wires melt together from getting too close to my exhaust. I fixed all of the wires and everything is working normal again except for my gas gage. When my tank is completely full the gage shows that it is full, but after riding it for a while the gage will go back down to empty. Could my gage have shorted out when the wires melted together and fried it? Going to the U.P. riding this weekend and need a working gage.
