captain, you still looking for a vector? my dad is selling his ;) lol! terrible year to try and sell a sled. hard to want to spend money without snow!
Nah. Im saving up for a new truck. My F-150 has a headgasket oil leak that is slowly but surly getting worse and Ive decided Im just going to get rid of the POS. Im saving up for a new Toyota Tacoma.
Ive decided up just going to run the Poo for now and probably end up getting another quad at some point (the new Raptor 700Rs look nice).
Thanks for the offer though, its temping.

Just do what i did Captain, go out and buy a used quad in good cond.
to play with.

here's mine........of course it's a Yammie.:)
Thats nice. Ive thought about buying a used Warrior but I dont think its enough machine to keep me happy (or scared). When you are used to riding a 115 hp sled a 20 hp quad is kind of a letdown.
I used to have a '97 Polaris Scrambler 500 4x4 and it was boring to ride. Im thinking that a YFZ or a Raptor is the only thing thats going to keep my interest. (Banshees are nice too, but Im not skilled enough at using the clutch and shifting to ride it at it's limit and Id prefer to stay away from a 2-stroke).
A couple of my buddies have '05 Honda 450Rs and I ride those from time to time. They are fun, but far from stock. The one is a 480 bigbore and the other is a 500 stroke with +2 a-arms and a flattrack lowering kit that'll do 85 mph. Like I said, they're fun. :WayCool:

LOL...big HP guy Huh?? yea shes just a 350 but it's fun enough for me,
everybody else just rides 4X4 quads that an't too fast:),It's just a play toy
for the summer months till winter gets here, then :2strokes:

Love the Phazers

Phazers might not be the fastest but it does not take much to mod them up so you still have some relibilty....

meh, HP doesnt = fun. the lightness of the sled, its tossability, and ability to just fool around out in the snow with one is what makes me want one. o mtn lite would be a good time :)

Well, more hp is fun, but it aint everything.
Im in the market for a good used Warrior or Raptor 350. YFZs are nice but the engines are short-life high-maintenance and Im not crazy about the EFI that the current Raptor 700s have. Im also not crazy about spending $7000 on a quad either. Thats a little more than I can afford right now and I dont really need a quad that does 80 mph to be happy. The racing that I plan on doing is more tight and technical XC racing type stuff and ice racing, and in that its more about cornering grip than outright top speed.
The power of the 450s is nice, but I want something that I can ride everyday and not be rebuilding the motor all the time, thats why Im looking at a Warrior/Raptor 350.
Sorry if I hyjacked this thread...

Yup i hear ya,, i love my Warrior good old quad.

We had the 91' but in red and white(not the LE) and that thing was mint in the powder and would go anywhere. We would race it when our town had the ice drags and we had it dialed in and would go up in classes and spank all the hillbillys on there 650rxl's,EXT's,XLTS,XCRS you name it. Jerry Fix was even surprised how quick it was, and it was stock and everyone thought it had work done to it!!!! Wish i still had it for my fiance.I'll have to take it from my uncle one day.

Daman, thats what Ive heard. Warriors/Raptor 350s seem like good little sport quads. They certainly arent the fastest (only about 20 hp) but they seem to be VERY reliable, and thats whats most important to me. I dont want a quad that I have to rebuild the motor every year. Whats the sense in a short life 4-stroke like a YFZ when you could just get a Banshee and have similar durability with MUCH more performnace potential (get a set of LRD pipes and not much would be able to keep up on the straights).
Those buddies of mine that have the bigbore 450Rs would probably have 'Shees, but they are die-hard Honda guys. Theres a guy who works for a Yamaha dealer in my area who has a modded Banshee (he has about $20,000 invested in the quad) and it will run 103 mph in 500 ft. Thats just insane for a quad to be that fast.
I know what you mean, Yamasquaw. My father is a die-hard Polaris guy, but after he rode my '90 Phazer II he commented, "I was surprised how torquey that sled is, especially considering its fan-cooled. Thats a nice sled." Thats funny because when I got the Phazer he gave me such a hard time about it, about how Yamahas are unreliable, have junk suspensions and get poor fuel economy. It was nice to see that my father doesnt always know as much as he thinks he does.

LOL..you aint lying.
Next month there is a local festival going on in Minocqua where they have radar runs and where you can demo ride sleds.
My father is going to down there to demo ride a Fusion. Im going to try to get him to demo ride a new Yamaha. He got all upset with me last winter when I came back from the demo rides and told him how much nice the Vector that I tried out was than the Poo 600s we all have. Id like to see him try out a Vector so he can see that Im not just being biased towards Yamaha.
Its just kind of funny because he always gave me a hard time about both of the Toyota 4Runners I owned, but wherever we went somewhere together he always asked if we could take the 'Yota (and he always asked if he could drive) and then he talked trash about my Phazer and ended up eating crow on that one.

i'll NEVER sell my Phazer II, its a great run around/through the woods type sled. I'm Collecting parts to install a newer 136" pro-action skid, 136x1.5 track, and gear it down to make it a fun off the trail sled.

thats what I was looking to do, make one a 136 sled or find a mtn lite for screwing around in the snow. fun for a completely different reason that the viper is fun :)
