I have a 97 sx 700 and I want to put the speedo and tack of a sxr or srx (non digital speed) on it to be able to see speed and rpm rather than the small dark one that I have now. Will or haw do I make this work? Or can't it be done? Any info is helpfull THANKS

I've done it to mine and others have as well you need the cowl the gauges and the hood harness to make it easy. Otherwise you will need to make a small jumper harness for the extra lighting. Also if you have a two cylinder you need ot have the tach recalibrated.

Just looking to put the top part that the actual gages are setting in. keep the sx hood but put the sxr or srx part that the windshield sets in. will all the cables line up or will this not work?

Yea the cables will all hook up. But you will need the black plastic piece (shroud) that the gauges mount in. The shourd and the gauges is all you really need. When it done it will look like this http://mypeoplepc.com/members/jwiedmayer//sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/34view.jpg
