Hyflax promblem 99SRX

Hello, I'm going thru hyflax every 500 miles on my SRX since I long traveled it. It is wearing especially bad at the bend in the rail. Wondering if I should add a marginial wheel kit or add bigger idler wheels, read somewhere that a polaris idler wheel would work but cant remember size and part number. ANY ideas?? thanks
 
have ya replaced the bottom transfer rod spacer to a 2.5 mm thick unit?
 
ya, it will even out the skid, taking some of the load off the front of the rails.

you still need a marginal snow wheel kit at the curve
 
2000srx

Is hyflax the same thing as slider. If so i have the same problem on my stock 2000srx. Does anybody know about good suspension upgrades maybe m-10 or the long travel kit.

Yes it's the same,,Try to loosen up your track some and pull up your
limiter straps a little,,and make shure you get in some powder once and
awile wile your riding,,This year is a bad year for hyfaxes because of the
low snow conditions.
 
Srx Burning Slides

I had this same problem when it was new. Like what has been already said, tighten up the limiter strap until there is 1 1/4 inch of thread showing. If you are NOT running studs you can run the track a lot looser than the book tells you to. I run mine at about 1 1/2 inches of slop in the middle. I get over 1500 miles on them now without any additional wheels.

I have over 3,000 miles and going instead of using hifax style 20 use hi fax style 18 it not as think and with stock wheel it will give you some room between hi-fax and track also I use teflon slides and they work great .
 
Daman Is Right

I agree sometimes they wear to the line and stop for a LOOOOOG time. I have seen people get all bent out of shape before the wear hits the line. These are the same peole that panic on a trip in the middle of a trip trying to find slides to change. I was with a guy once on a SRX that REFUSED to ride his sled and the slides were better than the ones I started the trip with!

Bingo, people freak out when they see their slides wear fast in the first few miles. They will do that then stop. Ive had mine on for God knows 3000 km's and they are fine. If they have worn to the metal rail then thats a different story.
